Anoop Jalota, son of Bhajan exponent Purshottam Das Jalota, took his first lessons in music from his renowned father. Anoop then, was barely 7 years old. Between then and now Anoop Jalota has matured into a singer par excellence to become a leading and most-sought-after performer of the day.  Known for his versatility, the smiling and ever-obliging musician from Lucknow renders Bhajans, Ghazals, Geets and Film Songs with equal grace and finesse. No wonder, wherever Anoop goes - East, West, North, South, his easy charm and mellifluous voice holds his audience spellbound in admiration.Having toured extensively, covering USA, Canada, Europe, the West Indies, Africa, Mauritius and many a Far East Country. There is little of the world that has yet see Anoop Jalota in person.  Anoop Jalota has set a new world record by receiving more than 100 Gold, Platinum and Multi-Platinum discs.

Anoop Jalota is popularly known as the "Bhajan Samraat" (Emperor of Bhajans) of India, due to his unending string of hit Bhajan albums. In a sense, he has spearheaded a mini cultural renaissance in India by repopularizing the infinite beauty of spiritual music in the form of Bhajans. It is primarily due to Anoop Jalota's attempts that the mellifluous strains of Bhajans can be heard every morning in homes throughout India. Being involved in such spiritual pursuits has naturally influenced the man's opinions in a positive way. Born and brought up in Lucknow under expert guidance of his father , himself a renowned bhajan singer Shri Purshottam Das Jalota, it is no wonder then, that he has now proved to be the exception to the rule in the Indian entertainment industry.

Anoop Jalota is constantly engaged in exploring and expressing the immense musical value of true Indian culture. At present he is engaged in recording an 18 cassettes series on the Bhagwad Geeta of which seven are already recorded and the remaining will be released soon. Last year he released a beautiful album on the different Chalisas such as Hanuman Chalisa, Durga Chalisa, etc. An album featuring his own unique rendition of old patriotic songs is also on the cards.

His admission that apart from name and fame, the most important thing which he has earned through singing Bhajans is control over anger, clearly displays his deep commitment and sincere devotion. A few more artists of the caliber and quality of Anoop Jalota could revolutionize the Indian entertainment industry. Let's hope that there are more such exceptions to the rule waiting in the lines.
